Climate change makes heatwave more likely

Scientists say that last weeks record breaking heatwave across much of Europe was made “at least five times” more likely to happen due to climate change.

Their study says that rising temperatures “super-charged” the event, causing it to be more likely to happen.

Researcher said that the, heat waves in June are now around 4 degrees hotter than they used to be.

The temperature was recorded highest on record this year. Heatwaves naturally occur in summertime but last week’s event in many European countries was unprecedented because it happened so early, and the recorded temperatures were so high.
